Arsenal hero Ian Wright believes there are too many players holding the club back from progression and has singled out one player in particular.

The Gunners were humiliated 5-1 at Anfield on Saturday night to dent their top four chances.

Despite taking the lead through Ainsley Maitland-Niles with 11 minutes on the clock, Liverpool recovered to be leading 4-1 at half-time.

Hero Wright trusts Unai Emery to move the club forward, however he believes there are up to four players who must be sold soon, specifically mentioning Stephan Lichsteiner.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Gunners legend said: “We’ve got to move players on that need to be moved on.

“What that showed me is we need players, there’s three or four players in that starting lineup that should be moved on or farmed out because we need to start to progress.

“Hopefully that result will start to release some fund for Unai.”

Arsenal’s starting lineup for the game was: Leno, Lichtsteiner, Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Iwobi, Aubameyang.

Wright was seen on Twitter laying into Lichtsteiner, saying: “If this was a crime scene Lichtsteiner’s fingerprints would be all over it.”

It’s fair to say that one of those Wright thinks should be “farmed out” is Lichtsteiner, even though he only arrived on a free in the summer.

Gooners, who else needs to be sold?
