There may not have been much to cheer so far this season for Gunners fans, but one thing we can all agree on is that the form of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Matteo Guendouzi deserves celebrating.
Aubameyang has settled into Premier League life effortlessly since his £58 million move from Borussia Dortmund last January while Guendouzi has proven himself to be one of the signings of the season, slotting into the Gunners’ midfield with a maturity that belies his 19 years.
It is with this fine form in mind that the pair have received nominations in the London Football Awards.
Aubameyang has been put forward for the Player Of The Year gong, while Guendouzi will be contesting the Young Player Of The Year prize.

Guendouzi has already made 30 appearances since his £7 million move from Lorient last summer, establishing himself as a first team regular and firm fan favourite. Aubameyang, meanwhile, has continued the free scoring start he enjoyed at the end of last season, netting 18 goals in 30 appearances this term, becoming the quickest Arsenal player to reach 25 Premier League goals in the process.
Guendouzi will be competing against Karlan Grant (Charlton Athletic), Declan Rice (West Ham United), Eberechi Eze (QPR) and Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace) the Young Player award, while Aubameyang faces stiff competition from Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Andros Townsend for the Player of The Year gong.
Well deserved and here’s hoping both players can continue their fine form until the end of the season.
