Steve Morrow, who has been involved within the Arsenal youth system for over a decade is being considered for a promotion according to Evening Standard.
The move would likely be towards a more senior role within the scouting setup at Arsenal following the departure of Sven Mislintat. Arsenal are still on the look out for a Technical Director a role in which Mislintat was keen to move into.
Arsenal are expected to bring in a new face to fill the role of Technical Director with some high-profile names linked with role such as AS Roma’s Technical Director, Monchi who oversaw recruitment at Sevilla under Emery’s reign. As well as former Arsenal midfielder Edu who is currently the Technical Director of the Brazil national team.
But it has been reported that Arsenal who will shake up their backroom staff this summer will look towards a more familiar face to take up the role of a senior scout.
Morrow is a man who knows the club inside and out starting his playing career with The Gunners in 1988 till he signed for QPR in 1997. Arsenal fans will remember him for scoring the winning goal in the 1993 League Cup final against Sheffield Wednesday and breaking his arm during the celebrations.
