Alan Shearer Believes Sergio Aguero Is Better Than Thierry Henry

Sergio Aguero equaled Alan Shearer’s record of number of Premier League hat-tricks this weekend in an emphatic win over Chelsea.

Shearer’s record stood at 11 Premier League hat-tricks and there is still plenty of time for Aguero to break it.

On Match of the Day 2 Alan Shearer compared Aguero and Henry.

He said: “Who’s the better player? They’re different.

“Thierry is different coming from the left hand side and the right hand side, Aguero is more of a centre forward.

“Both great players but i know you’re going to ask me to choose one so I’m going to choose Aguero on his finishing ability.

“I’m a huge fan of his. I said years ago he was world class and he keeps producing year after year.

“It’s a surprise, last year was the only time he was in the PFA Team of the Year which I find staggering.”

Aguero is currently only 15 goals behind Henry’s tally during his two spells at Arsenal.

Aside from Aguero, Arsenal currently have a striker on their books who could well surpass Henry’s tally as well. Aubameyang recently smashed the clubs record held by Henry of scoring 25 goals in the least amount of games.
