Long-time foes Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger have reconciled and put aside their differences last night.
Over the years the pair have had bitter disputes with each other with Mourinho even branding the Frenchman as a “specialist in failure”.
During Mourinho’s second spell at Chelsea, Wenger pushed the 56-year-old on the touchline.
But last night at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco the pair buried the hatchet.
Mourinho presented Wenger with his Lifetime Achievement Award last night via a pre recorded video.
The ex-Manchester United boss said: “There were some episodes along the road.
“I can only speak by myself. I really enjoyed the competition. But the real respect is always there. He made lots of history in that football club.
Mourinho was more than complimentary towards his former counterpart saying:
“The nickname is there – the Invincibles. Amazing. A coaching philosophy, the almost perfect team.”
Wenger has been recently featuring as a pundit on beIN Sports and has received high praise from viewers.
The Frenchman made it clear in Monaco that football is still his life. Could we see Mourinho and Wenger at opposite ends of the dugout again sometime soon?
