Petr Cech further enhanced his reputation as one of the nicest blokes in football this week when he took the entire Arsenal Women’s team out for a meal to congratulate them on their successful season so far.
The Gunners are two points behind unbeaten Women’s Super League leaders Manchester City, but have two games in hand over their title rivals.
Tim Stillman, who covers the Women’s team for Arseblog, revealed the Czech stopper’s generous gesture on Twitter yesterday, with the former Chelsea goalkeeper footing the entire bill as a congratulations for their exploits during the 2018/19 campaign.
Cech will retire from football at the end of the season after spending 15 years in England, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest ever goalkeepers in the process.

The 36-year-old has lifted four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, a Europa League and a Champions League. He has made 131 appearances for the Gunners since arriving from Chelsea in a £11 million deal in 2015.
Let’s hope the Women’s team have some silverware to celebrate lifting before the great man calls it a day, this summer.
