Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has risked upsetting the fans of his old club by saying he would want Spurs to win the Champions League.
The 55-year-old spent 13 seasons with the Gunners winning the league twice along with the FA Cup four times.
Spurs progressed through to the quarter finals of the Champions League last night after they beat Borussia Dortmund 1-0 to finish the tie 4-0 on aggregate.
Despite being the Gunner’s bitter rivals Seaman confessed that he would like to see them win the Champions League.
He said on talkSPORT: “Seriously, I swear, I would want them to win,”
“If they were in a final against a foreign team I would want Tottenham to beat them, no doubt about that.
“Say Tottenham were playing Bayern Munich, Barcelona , whoever – I would want the English team to win.”
“I played 75 times for my country, I’d want the English team to win. That’s just the way I am,” he added.
Seaman upset Arsenal fans on Twitter who said:
David Seaman on talk sport saying if Spurs get to final he would hope they win! As if Giggs, scholes or Gary Neville would say that about the dippers. Seems everyone loves spurs!

@talkSPORT David Seaman is an Arsenal legend but he’s lost the plot in saying he would want spurs to beat a foreign side in CL final, Never want them to win any game, and if it was against Man United in the final I would want Man United to win 10:0 with Alexis scoring them all!

David Seaman says he’d want spurs to win a champions league final if they were facing a foreign team. I bet they were cheering us on against Barca in 06 weren’t they? Not a chance. Hope they get smashed by whoever they play next.
