Hector Bellerin Could Be Back Sooner Than Anyone Thought

Positive injury news? What’s that? Does it ever happen to Arsenal?

Apparently so, if the Gunners’ 23 man squad for their warm weather training camp in Dubai is anything to go by.

Unai Emery and his team jetted out for sunnier climbs today while we all endure the international break, with a friendly against Al-Nasr Dubai SC taking place next Tuesday.

And, judging by the squad Emery has opted for, it bodes well for several long term absentees and their recovery from various injuries. Most notably, Hector Bellerin.

The Spanish right-back ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during January’s 2-0 Premier League victory over Chelsea and was ruled out for nine months with the injury.

Bellerin has since posted several positive updates on social media regarding his rehabilitation and with his inclusion in Emery’s Dubai squad, it could be that his recovery is progressing ahead of schedule.

Of course, Bellerin won’t be taking part in Tuesday’s friendly at the newly opened Al Maktoum Stadium.

However, Emery clearly seems to think Bellerin is fit enough to take part in some form of training with the squad, which could indicate that the Spaniard is doing better than expected, which would be a huge boost ahead of next season.

Also included in the squad were Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding, both long term absentees which again, could suggest that they could be set for a return sooner rather than later.
