With one Ajax defender deciding against a move to Arsenal, the hope is that the other Amsterdam based stopper linked to the Gunners wouldn’t follow the same suit as Matthijs de Ligt and opt against a move to North London.
But we’re not so sure Nicolas Tagliafico is overly keen of leaving the Netherlands any time soon.
The full-back has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as a replacement for Nacho Monreal, but the Argentine’s recent quotes suggest that he isn’t thinking too much about the future at the moment.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Tagliafico said, “I am enjoying life and football. We are privileged as footballers.
“Our work is something fascinating and something we love to do. I enjoy playing for the national team and my club. I can’t think of what’s coming, that’s disrespectful to my club.

“It’s great that [Barcelona] talk about me, because that means things are going well.
“But I can only focus on the present. Friday we [Argentina] have to beat Venezuela and that’s what counts.”
An unforgettable victory! Amazing how hard the whole team worked to get the win, VAMOSSS AJAX!!!

Arsenal are reported to be in pole position to sign Tagliafico if he does decide to leave Ajax, although Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring his situation.
The Eredivisie giants are said to be demanding a £17 million transfer fee, which is well within Unai Emery’s £45 million summer budget.
