Everton are poised to take advantage of a developing situation at Arsenal, surrounding a highly rated young attacker expected to leave the Emirates in the near future.
Arsenal’s Hale End academy has once again gathered transfer attention, with several Premier League clubs monitoring one of their standout youth forwards. Everton are understood to hold serious interest as they look to strengthen their long-term attacking options.
The Merseyside Club have shown desire to refresh an aging team, bringing in exciting young talents last summer like Tyler Dibling, Adam Aznou and Carlos Alcaraz. Attempts to find a consistent striker have failed, with Thierno Barry and Beto being the latest of disappointments up-front.

Everton Close in on Nefeye Osazee
The player at the centre of all this interest is Nefeye Osazee, a 16-year-old striker who has been labelled a “Nigerian goal machine”.
Nefeye Osazee’s journey began away from English football, having spent part of his early life in Nigeria before making the move to the Gunners. He joined Arsenal’s academy at just 13 years old and for the last two years has shown a keen eye for goals.
The teenager was part of the Arsenal U16 side that became the Premier League National Champions, showcasing the ability and attacking instincts on display. Blessed with pace and athleticism, Osazee posesses many of the raw attributes needed in a top-level striker.
His situation at Arsenal shifted after he was informed that his current scholarship would not be renewed, a decision that has alerted several Premier League clubs to his availability. Everton are believed to be leading the race, although Leeds United, Bournemouth and Spurs are also understood to be closely monitoring.
How would this affect Arsenal
The decision to not offer him a scholarship seems to have stemmed from the increased competition in forward positions, both at youth level and for the main team.
In recent years, the academy have adopted a no-nonsense policy which sees only the elite get retained. This has produced gems like Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri, but it also means promising players like Osazee are shown the door if they’re not deemed to progress quickly enough.
Losing Osazee shouldn’t have the biggest impact on our options long-term. With a stacked crop of strikers including Gyökeres, Havertz, Jesus and Merino, Arsenal can deal with letting go of an academy striker.
However, if he were to thrive at another club, it could be another case of “one that got away”. Just like Harry Kane, Folarin Balogun and Yunus Musah, we could unknowingly be losing a great player.
