Arsenal have taken a significant step in their ambitious pursuit of Vinicius Junior, with reports claiming the Premier League champions have reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with the Real Madrid forward.
According to Hand of Arsenal and @MrArsenicTM, the Gunners have made progress behind the scenes after agreeing the framework of a contract with the Brazilian international, leaving negotiations with Real Madrid as the next major hurdle.
The report adds that Roc Nation, the agency representing Vinicius, is preparing to enter discussions with the Spanish giants armed with what has been described as a “monstrous offer” from Arsenal.
Real Madrid talks set to decide outcome
While the reported breakthrough on personal terms represents an important development, the transfer remains far from complete.
Arsenal would still need to strike an agreement with Real Madrid, where Vinicius remains under contract. Any deal is also expected to require one of the biggest financial packages in Premier League history, both in terms of transfer fee and salary.
The report indicates that the next move now rests with Vinicius and the negotiations that will follow between his representatives and the La Liga club.
Arsenal continue pursuit of elite attacking reinforcement
Mikel Arteta and Arsenal’s recruitment team have made strengthening the attacking department a priority this summer as they look to build on last season’s Premier League title triumph.
Vinicius is widely regarded as one of world football’s elite forwards, capable of transforming matches with his pace, creativity and goalscoring ability. Bringing the 26-year-old to the Emirates would represent one of the most high-profile signings in the club’s history.

For now, however, Arsenal’s reported agreement with the player is only one part of a much larger process. Until negotiations with Real Madrid are concluded, the proposed transfer remains at an early stage despite the encouraging progress on personal terms.
