Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks after suffering an injury while on international duty with Greece, according to Dimitris Manakos.
Tzolis was forced off after just 18 minutes of Greece’s clash with the Netherlands after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem.
The Arsenal summer signing clutched the back of his thigh before going to ground, with his shirt pulled over his face as he appeared visibly distressed. Although Tzolis looked as though he wanted to continue after receiving treatment, Greece head coach Ivan Jovanovic decided to substitute him, with Giorgos Masouras taking his place.
The initial assessment has now provided a clearer indication of the expected recovery period.
According to journalist Dimitris Manakos, Tzolis is expected to miss around two to three weeks, although the precise recovery timeline will depend on further assessment.
Tzolis missing six Arsenal games
The reported timeframe would rule the 24-year-old out of a significant run of fixtures for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Manakos reports that Tzolis is likely to miss:
Leeds United – October 10
Lille – October 13
Nottingham Forest – October 18
Bayern Munich – October 21
Everton – October 24
Fleetwood – October 27
The injury therefore comes at an important stage of Arsenal’s schedule, with Premier League, Champions League and domestic cup fixtures all falling within the reported recovery period.
The one positive indication from the current assessment is that Tzolis is expected to return in November.
According to Manakos, the first Arsenal fixture of November against Liverpool is currently the target for his return.

Another injury concern for Arteta
Tzolis’ setback adds to an increasingly busy Arsenal injury list following the international break.
Kai Havertz has already returned to London Colney after suffering a suspected hamstring injury while playing for Germany, while Arsenal have also been managing the fitness of several defensive players.
Tzolis had made an encouraging start to life at Arsenal following his summer move from Club Brugge, providing assists during the opening weeks of the campaign and establishing himself as an option in Arteta’s attacking rotation.
His absence now leaves Arsenal without one of their left-sided attacking options for the next several fixtures.
The initial expectation remains that Tzolis will be back in November, with Liverpool currently identified as the first match he could return for, provided his recovery continues as anticipated.
