Eberechi Eze could miss over a month of Arsenal’s remaining fixtures after picking up a calf injury that ruled him out of the Carabao Cup final.
Since arriving from Crystal Palace last summer, Eberechi Eze has grown into his role at Arsenal and has been displaying his best form in recent weeks.
The 27-year-old offers something truly unique in midfield and has already amassed a collection of iconic moments for his boyhood club, most notably a momentous hat-trick against bitter rivals, Tottenham.
As revealed by BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, Eze is set for four to six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury against Leverkusen last week.
After withdrawing from the England squad, he will now undergo scans this week to determine the full extent of the injury.
How much of the run-in will Eze miss?
Every game is a crucial one for Arsenal from now until the end of the season. Losing Eze will be a significant blow for Mikel Arteta, who has had to contend with various injury issues all season.
However, the upcoming international break will mitigate Eze’s absence somewhat; Arsenal have no game until the first week of April, which will ease the immediate pressure on Arteta’s squad.
With Mikel Merino likely out until the end of the season, Eze joins Martin Ødegaard as the latest casualty in the middle of the park. There is growing hope that Arsenal’s captain will return from his knee injury in time for their FA Cup quarter-final at Southampton.
Should Eze’s injury fit within the four-to-six-week timeline, Arsenal will hope to have him back for a potential Champions League semi-final tie and the final few games of the league season.
These are the games he could potentially miss:
Southampton (Away – FA Cup) – 4th April
Sporting (Away – Champions League QF 1st leg) – 8th April
Bournemouth (Home – Premier League) – 11th April
Sporting (Home – Champions League QF 2nd leg) – 15th April
Manchester City (Away – Premier League) – 19th April
Newcastle (Home – Premier League) – 25th April *subject to change should Arsenal reach the FA Cup semi-finals
Barcelona/Atletico Madrid (Away – Champions League SF 1st leg) – 28/29th May

Injuries continue to provide the Gunners with obstacles in their pursuit of silverware this season, yet they continue to hold a strong position in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.
Such is the depth of the squad that Mikel Arteta will be confident in navigating Eze’s absence, particularly with Martin Ødegaard desperate to play a decisive role this season.
