Rogers revenge? Arsenal join Chelsea in race to sign French Premier League star

Arsenal are set to battle Chelsea for the signature of Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his back line this summer.

William Saliba’s recent injury, which is expected to keep him sidelined for several months, has forced Arsenal into the transfer market for another central defender. Crystal Palace are understood to value the French defender at around £55 million and are in no rush to sell following his impressive campaign.

Lacroix was one of Palace’s standout performers last season, playing a crucial role as the club lifted the UEFA Conference League. His pace, physicality and composure on the ball have made him one of the most sought after defenders in the Premier League.

Arsenal are now weighing up whether to enter the race with an official offer before Chelsea complete the deal.

Can Arsenal beat Chelsea to another major target?

Arsenal have every reason to avoid another transfer disappointment at the hands of Chelsea.
