    Arsenal International Round-up

    Jack BurgessJack Burgess16 October 2023

It has been a busy international break for the Arsenal squad, with 12 first-team players reporting for international duty, as well as Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba dropping out through injury.

Here is a round-up of how ‘the Gunners’ players have got on so far and what’s to come.

    Martin Odegaard:

Captain Martin Odegaard played 78 minutes of Norway’s resounding 4-0 win away at Cyprus. The midfielder produced one key pass, one dribble and 64/71(90%) of his passes in a solid, if not spectacular, performance.

Norway lost to Spain on Sunday evening to end their hopes of qualifying for the 2024 Euros through the qualifiers, with their only chance of qualifying now through the Nations League playoffs.

    David Raya

David Raya was an unused substitute in Spain’s 2-0 victory over Scotland on Thursday and 1-0 win over Norway on Sunday

    Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior played the full 90 minutes of Poland’s 2-0 win against the Faroe Islands in a Euro 2024 qualifier. The 23-year-old completed two tackles and interceptions won 2/2 aerial duels and 70/76 (92%) of his passes.

Kiwior also played 90 minutes as Poland drew 1-1 with Moldova on Sunday.

    Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey played the first 45 minutes of Ghana’s 2-0 friendly loss to Mexico in the early hours of Sunday morning (UK time).

The 30-year-old came off at half-time to the horror of many Arsenal fans – but Ghana head coach Chris Hughton eased fears by stating that Partey was “always going to play 45 minutes”.

It remains to be seen as to whether Partey will play in Ghana’s next match, which is in the USA in the early hours of Wednesday morning (UK time).

    Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko played 76 minutes in an impressive showing as Ukraine beat North Macedonia 2-0 – where he played in central midfield.

The 26-year-old assisted Ukraine’s first goal, while also providing four key passes, three tackles and interceptions and completed 23/26 passes (88%).

Ukraine travels to Malta on Tuesday with kick-off at 19:45 PM.

Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale and Eddie Nketiah

Declan Rice and Aaron Ramsdale were unused substitutes as England beat Australia 1-0 in a friendly on Friday evening.

Eddie Nketiah made his England debut in Friday night’s 1-0 win against Australia, coming off the bench on 72 minutes.

England host Italy on Tuesday in a Euro 2024 qualifier, with a win all but confirming England’s qualification.

    Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz came on in the 62nd minute of Germany’s 3-1 win over the USA.

Germany heads to Mexico for a friendly in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

    Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Magalhaes played 90 minutes for Brazil in their 1-1 draw with Venezuela on Friday. The uncompromising defender scored his first goal for his country. The 25-year-old won five out of six aerial duels and completed 88/92(96%) passes.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus played the final 30 minutes off the bench in the match.

Brazil plays away to Uruguay in the early hours of Wednesday.

    Takehiro Tomiyasu

Takehiro Tomiyasu played the first half of Japan’s 4-1 victory over Japan on Friday.

Japan host Tunisia in a friendly on Tuesday.
