Following Jurrien Timber’s injury Arsenal are currently interested in two right-backs, Ivan Fresneda and Benjamin Pavard.
Ivan Fresneda, who is only 18 years old, currently plays for Real Valladolid CF in La Liga. The player represents Spain’s under-19 squad.
Real Valladolid was relegated to the second tier of Spanish football last season and Fresneda aims to play top-tier football.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed in his exclusive column for Caught Offside, “Arsenal have been tracking Ivan Fresneda for a long time but they’re not actively working on this deal this summer”. If Fresneda were to leave Valladolid, his eventual fee would be “around €10 – 12 million” according to Fabrizio.
However, given that Fresneda is considered a unique talent, Arsenal are not the only team interested in signing him. The defender is also being watched by teams in Spain, including Sporting Lisbon.
On the other hand, Arsenal are also scouting Benjamin Pavard. According to TNT Sport, Arsenal are “in pole position to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard.”

Benjamin Pavard currently plays for Bayern Munich and he represents the French national team at 27 years of age.
Pavard has won several honors, including four Bundesliga titles, three DFL Supercups, one FIFA Club World Cup, one UEFA Champions League, one FIFA World Cup, and one DFB-Pokal.
The Frenchman is wanted by Manchester United as a replacement for Harry Maguire. However, it appears extremely improbable that United would sign Pavard because Maguire is no longer leaving Old Trafford.
Romano claims that “Arsenal were only informed of the conditions of the deal but never actually sent any bid to Bayern.”
The player wants to transfer to Inter Milan, but Bayern Munich are demanding a transfer fee of “€30 million”. Arsenal are the front-runners to sign Benjamin Pavard since Inter Milan are very hesitant to pay such a big price for the defender.
