Arsenal hold strong position in Christos Tzolis pursuit as Club Brugge prepare for record sale

Arsenal appear to be well placed to pursue Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis this summer, with fresh reports suggesting Mikel Arteta’s side are leading the race should the Belgian champions decide to sanction a record-breaking sale.

The Greece international enjoyed a remarkable 2025/26 campaign, establishing himself as one of Europe’s most productive wide forwards after scoring 22 goals and providing 29 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have inevitably attracted interest from several elite clubs, but according to VoetbalPrimeur, Arsenal currently stand out as the most concrete destination.

    Tzolis leaves future open

Speculation surrounding Tzolis has intensified over recent weeks, although the player himself has remained measured when discussing his future.

When asked last month whether he could join Arsenal, Manchester United or Manchester City, the 24-year-old insisted that any decision would ultimately rest with Club Brugge.

“I don’t know. It depends on Club Brugge. It’s not up to me to decide,” Tzolis said as quoted by Sport Witness.

“We’ll see what the best option is for me. It’s not just about the name. We also have to ask ourselves what the best project is.”

Those comments underline the importance the winger places on sporting development rather than simply securing a high-profile transfer.

Club brugge open to record-breaking deal

According to VoetbalPrimeur, Club Brugge are not actively looking to sell Tzolis but recognise that this summer may represent the ideal opportunity to maximise his market value.

The Belgian club’s current transfer record stands at €37.5 million, received from AC Milan for Charles De Ketelaere in 2022.

Greek journalist Dimitris Manakos, who has closely followed Tzolis throughout his career, believes Brugge would be prepared to listen to offers exceeding that figure.

“My information is that Club is willing to listen to offers if the right opportunity presents itself,” Manakos explained.

“Club is aiming for a record sum, and with several top clubs following him, the market seems ready for that.”

Any successful bid would therefore likely need to surpass €37.5 million.

    Arsenal’s Interest Described as ‘Concrete’

Perhaps the most significant aspect of the report concerns Arsenal’s long-term admiration for the player.

Manakos believes the Gunners have spent considerable time monitoring Tzolis and are now perfectly positioned to capitalise.

“I think Arsenal stands a better chance than many people in Belgium currently realise,” he said.

“This isn’t just a club that comes to take a look every now and then. Arsenal has been following Tzolis for a long time and has enormous appreciation for what he has shown over the past twelve months.”

He added that while several important steps remain before any transfer can materialise, Arsenal are in a particularly favourable position.

“Club Brugge know that this summer could be the right moment for a top transfer, and for Tzolis himself, the chance to sign with one of the biggest clubs in Europe would obviously be particularly attractive.”

“Important steps still need to be taken, but if Arsenal really push through, I believe they hold all the cards to finalise this transfer.”

Norwich spell unlikely to deter suitors

Tzolis’ previous experience in English football was far less successful.

During his three-year association with Norwich City between 2021 and 2024, the winger struggled to establish himself, registering three goals and two assists in 30 appearances before loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Düsseldorf helped rebuild his confidence.

However, Manakos believes those difficulties are unlikely to affect Arsenal’s assessment. Instead, the emphasis is on the dramatic improvement Tzolis has shown since arriving at Club Brugge, where he has developed into one of Belgium’s standout attacking talents.

Whether Arsenal choose to formalise their interest remains to be seen, but with Club Brugge reportedly open to a record-breaking offer and the Gunners maintaining their long-standing admiration for the Greek international, Tzolis is firmly among the attacking names to watch as the summer transfer window gathers pace.
