Raya – 9
Clean sheet away at Spurs and yes, helped by immense centre-backs in front but he did some really good work to keep the ball out of the net, especially in the first 20. Kicking got better as the game went on, and cross-claiming was brilliant as always.
White – 5
I’ll be honest, far from his best performance. But defended their wingers pretty well!
Saliba – 9
Was in a battle with Solanke that he struggled with the first 20, and then, he took over. Immense with AND without the ball. So lucky to have him
Gabriel – 10
Didn’t put a single foot wrong and once again, like at Stamford Brirdge, like at Anfield, he gets the BIG goal. Best centre-back partnership in the world, we have.
Timber – 9
Yeah he’s special… proper footballer – what do I mean by that? Well, any situation he finds himself in, you back him to have the skill set to come out of it the winner. He was brilliant, despite the yellow.
Partey – 7
Any less would be harsh when him and Jorginho had so much ground to cover for two players criticised for their athleticism. Sloppy at times but did plenty of great work.
Jorginho – 7
Copy & paste what I said about Partey, but I would add that there’s an experience and composure he exudes. He understands the assignment. What a signing he’s proved to be.
Saka – 8
Why such a high number? Purely because of his work-rate. We don’t keep a clean-sheet if Bukayo & Gabriel Martinelli don’t do the work they need to do. The effort DID NOT go unnoticed.
Trossard – 7
Could and should have had an assist for Martinelli and did some nice stuff but struggled at times too.
Martinelli – 8
Had more joy one-on-one with his full-back than we’ve seen for a while but again the reason for the marks is for pure work-rate and understanding of how to defend Spurs’ complex & fluid full-backs.
Havertz – 9
Glad Arteta didn’t move him from the 9, he was superb. His hold-up play was sensational and his positioning, work-rate, close control, and energy were immense. What a striker’s performance he put in. He just gets it, doesn’t he?
Jesus – 6
The most noteworthy contribution was moving to the right wing so Nwaneri didn’t take on a huge workload. Good to have him back though!
Sterling – 6
One disappointing dribble but he’ll come good!
Nwaneri – 7
Hey, I’m gonna give him a rating above the other subs! Got on the ball and played, and kept composed while bringing the necessary work rate and put in a great block toward the end of the game to help see-out the win
Arteta – 10
You know why he gets a 10? I just loved his demeanor all day long. Never fazed, had a whole midfield missing, tweaked and managed the game accordingly, has now won 3 away derbies in a row, smiled and laughed with Ange with the knowledge of a superb gameplan and a group of players ready to die for him. He looked so unbothered throughout but I loved it.
